Responsible use of engman's artificial intelligence
This guide explains section 7 of the Terms of Service for the people who use engman. It does not change the Terms: where the two differ, the Terms govern.
What engman's artificial intelligence does
From the Terms, section 7.1:
engman's artificial intelligence extracts, groups and summarizes the Customer's own Records, with links to their sources, and drafts agendas.
That is the intended purpose of engman's artificial intelligence.
It organizes what you and your organization already wrote. It does not judge the people those Records are about.
What it never does
From the Terms, section 7.2:
engman's artificial intelligence never rates, ranks, scores or compares people, never infers emotion, and never recommends hiring, promoting, disciplining or dismissing anyone.
Every output is a Proposal that you confirm
From the Terms, section 7.3:
Every artificial-intelligence output and every write by a Connected agent is a Proposal that a person reviews and confirms in the web app before it is saved.
Nothing that the artificial intelligence or a Connected agent produces becomes a Record on its own. Before you confirm a Proposal:
- Open its sources and check that it says what they say. Artificial-intelligence output may contain errors or omissions.
- Edit anything that is wrong or missing. What is saved is what you confirm.
- Discard it if you do not need it.
How artificial-intelligence output is marked
- In the app, a Proposal from engman's artificial intelligence, and a Record saved from it, carry a label saying that artificial intelligence generated them. The label stays after you edit and confirm it.
- Every Record that engman returns, in the app or to a Connected agent, says where it came from and, when artificial intelligence generated it, which model did. That machine-readable mark lets software detect it as generated by artificial intelligence (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, art. 50(2)).
Using it responsibly
- Do not use any output of engman's artificial intelligence, alone or in part, to evaluate how a person performs or behaves, or to decide on their hiring, promotion, pay, discipline or dismissal (Terms, section 7.7).
- Do not use engman to make decisions about employment relationships or to monitor people (Terms, section 7.7).
- Tell the people you keep Records about that your organization uses engman, as section 6.1 of the Terms requires.
